
Gustavo Arnal, 52, died after falling from the “Jenga” tower in New York’s Tribeca neighborhood on Friday afternoon. Police discovered the body of a 52-year-old man who had been injured in a fall near the building.
Bed Bath & Beyond reported his death in a press release on Sunday, but provided no other information. The struggling business announced shop closures and layoffs. On August 16-17, Arnal sold 55,013 shares of Bed Bath & Beyond in various transactions.
The transactions totaled almost $1.4 million, and Arnal still had over 255,400 shares left. On August 23, the business, Arnal, and key shareholder Ryan Cohen were sued for allegedly inflating the company’s stock price.
