U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris unveiled a new coalition of space industry firms on Friday with the goal of expanding career possibilities in the field, particularly for those from historically underrepresented backgrounds.
The partnership, which will begin with three pilot programs next month, will be led by Blue Origin, Boeing Co., Lockheed Martin., Northrop Grumman Corp., and Lockheed Martin.
Amazon, Space X, and Virgin Orbit will also be partners, according to a statement from Harris’s office.
