To dominate the future mobility market, Hyundai Motor Group will strengthen its strategic relationship with KT Corporation (KT), Korea’s premier telecommunications firm. The two parties will advocate for broad and comprehensive collaboration in next-generation communication infrastructure and ICT. Through advanced collaborative research, they intend to build 6G communication-based autonomous driving technology capable of processing massive volumes of data at a quicker rate.
In light of KT’s extensive ICT infrastructure assets and active business strategy in the future mobility industry, Hyundai Motor Group has chosen to expand and develop its strategic relationship. HMG and KT will extend their EV charging infrastructure across the country by leveraging KT’s corporate locations and networks. Hyundai Motor Group will be in charge of creating AAM cars and building vertical ports, while KT will establish critical communication networks for AAM operations.
KT offers a diverse network of high-quality communication infrastructure, including 14 Internet data centers (IDCs), the most in Korea, and five satellites, which may augment shaded areas for autonomous driving and the AAM communication network. Hyundai Motor Group intends to lead the future mobility industry by integrating core competencies with KT in order to “advance car technology as a connection device.” KT has a competitive edge in telecoms AI since it has been aggressively acquiring fundamental technology and expertise in business sectors such as big data and cloud.
