
ConocoPhillips, an American multinational corporation engaged in hydrocarbon exploration and production headquartered in Houston, Texas’s Energy Corridor neighborhood said thursday that Mr. Dennis V. Arriola has been chosen to serve as a board member by the company’s board of directors.
Over the course of his career, Arriola held a variety of executive positions in gas and electric utilities as well as renewable energy. Arriola most recently held the position of Avangrid, Inc.’s CEO, and worked for Sempra Energy as executive vice president, group president, and chief sustainability officer. He also worked for San Diego Gas & Electric as vice president and general manager of its operations in South America.
ConocoPhillips’ chair and CEO, Ryan Lance, was pleased to welcome Dennis to the company’s board of directors since he brings to the energy sector a valuable perspective and set of talents, particularly in renewable and low-carbon energy. Arriola previously served on the boards of several Sempra operating companies, including Chilquinta Energa in Chile, Luz del Sur SAA in Peru, and Infraestructura Energética Nova in Mexico. ConocoPhillips currently has 14 directors, 12 of whom are independent, with the appointment of Mr. Arriola. Mr. Arriola will serve on the Audit and Finance Committee, as well as the Human Resources and Compensation Committee, of the ConocoPhillips board.
