Parler, social media has acquired a cloud-services provider and is reorganizing its operations. Following the violence at the United States Capitol last year, the firm went black. Parler announced the formation of a new parent company, Parlement Technologies Inc.
The new startup has completed a $16 million financing round, bringing its total capital to $56 million. The agreement with Dynascale, situated in California, provides Parler with access to a cloud services provider with about 50,000 square feet of data center space in the United States. Parler was founded in 2018 and bills itself as a free-speech platform for anyone looking for an alternative to platforms like Twitter Inc.
It swiftly grew in popularity among followers of former US President Donald Trump. Parler reappeared in Google’s app store early this month, more than a year and a half after the Alphabet-owned business deleted it in the aftermath of the U.S. Capitol protests.
