An official announcement on Saturday stated that the DGCA has given an aerodrome license to the Guwahati International Airport Ltd, a subsidiary of the Adani group that manages the LGBI Airport at this location.
According to the statement, the license for the aerodrome was granted in order to “ensure comprehensive administration, operations, and development of the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) airport in compliance with the concession agreement.”
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) issued the license on Friday. The license grants the aerodrome permission to serve as a national public airport. On October 8, 2021, the Adani company assumed control of the administration, operation, and expansion of Guwahati airport. With permission from the AAI, who had previously run the airport, it was managing the LGBI Airport.
