T-Mobile Polska, a Polish mobile provider, has been charged by regulator UOKiK with deceptive advertising and might be subject to a fine of 10% of its annual sales. As long as the consumer paid a price of at least 35 zlotys ($7.99) each month to continue the offer, T-slogan Mobile’s “1200 GB free for a year” actually delivered 100 GB of internet data each month for a year, according to the regulator.
The campaign, according to T-Mobile Polska, was well-liked by customers and had a structure that was typical of pay-as-you-go offerings. However, the company added that it would cooperate with UOKiK to make the offer more transparent if necessary.
“In the next days, we will give UOKiK promotional materials for the offer, and we will work with the office to improve the offer’s communication so that there is no ambiguity regarding its parameters.”
