Microsoft is developing a new version of its search engine Bing that will be propelled by the AI that powers ChatGPT from OpenAI. Microsoft intends to introduce the new function by the end of March in an effort to compete with Google, according to The Information.
This information comes after Microsoft revealed last year that it would incorporate the image-generation program DALL-E 2 from OpenAI into Bing. The software behemoth has worked with OpenAI in the past, contributing $1 billion in funding and establishing a long-term relationship to create AI supercomputing capabilities on Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform.
In November 2020, OpenAI made ChatGPT available for free public testing. The chatbot can provide human-like responses to a variety of queries.
