Beyoncé, the world-renowned singer and performer, is set to equal the record for the most Grammy Awards won by a solo artist in history at this year’s 65th Annual Grammy Awards.
The singer, who is nominated in nine categories, currently has a collection of 28 awards and could reach the record of 31 wins held by the late conductor Georg Solti with just three more wins.
Adele and Harry Styles will compete with Beyoncé for the prestigious album of the year award, with their albums 30 and Harry’s House, respectively. In the song and record of the year categories, Beyoncé’s “Break My Soul,” Styles’ “As It Was,” and Adele’s “Easy On Me” are all in the running.
Lizzo, Kendrick Lamar, and other top musicians will also be competing in various categories, making this year’s ceremony one of the most hotly contested in recent history.
The 65th Annual Grammy Awards, dubbed “the biggest night in music,” will be held on February 5th at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Hosted by Trevor Noah and featuring performances by James Corden, Cardi B, and Kim Petras, among others, the awards show is expected to be a star-studded event.
With the introduction of new categories, such as songwriter of the year (non-classical), the Recording Academy is set to honor some of the best composers in the music industry.
The ceremony will be broadcast live on CBS TV Network and will be available to stream live and on-demand on Paramount+.
